Rundum nachgefragt

Hey, how are you?

Hey, I’m fine. How are you?

Fine, too. Do like the weather?

Oh yes, the weather is very nice. I like the hottest month in the year and when it is so cold, I make the thermal.

Yeah, this is a good thing. So tell me about you.

Okay. Hey, I’m Penny and I live in Florida. My job is it to make meals and cakes. Some of my friends say: “You are the best black oven and you make the best cakes of the world.”, but sometimes my owner scream, because the head of the cake is not finished. But I think all in all I make a good job.

Oh, you like to make cakes?

Yes, it is my favourite task, because I like the smell in the room.

I like to make cakes, too. What is your favourite recipe?

I don’t have a favourite recipe, but I like to make some chocolate-cakes.

Nice! Can you give me a good recipe for a chocolate-cake?

Yes, it is no problem for me.
You need these things to make a good chocolate-cake:

  • 1 1/2 Cups unsweetened cocoa powder, plus more for dusting
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 Cups buttermilk
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water

And how it works:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter cake pans. Line bottoms with parchment paper, and butter paper. Dust the pans with cocoa; tap out extra.
Step 2: Sift cocoa, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar into bowl. Beat in oil, buttermilk, vanilla, eggs and hot water one at a time, using a mixer set at low. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.
Step 3: Pour batter into pans. Bake 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centers comes out clean; an adult should rotate the pans halfway through and remove cakes from the oven.
Step 4: Let cakes cool in pans on wire racks, 20 minutes, before inverting to remove. Discard paper. Cool completely on racks, top side up. An adult should cut off top of one layer.
Step 5: With a butter knife, frost top of trimmed layer.
Step 6: Place the other layer on top. Frost top and sides of cake.

Thanks a lot for the recipe and thank you for the interview. Have a nice day. Bye.

Bye.
